That's it for now and Let's go Racing!

With no racing on tap, Zack took to the woods for the annual deer hunt. Hunting has been a family tradition for many years. Opening day he got this monster, with one shot who dressed out at over 230 lbs! Zack is the 3rd generation in the family to take a nice buck from Grandma Sandy & Grandpa Johns house. Thanks to crewmembers Wes, Peaty, Mike Grueneberg & Fred Outhouse for the "cleaning duty". Mike followed up with his own nice buck Sunday morning. Team member Cody Egan shot his first buck Saturday "upnorth". Wes and Peaty are still hunting hard and looking for their trophy.
Congrats Teammember Nick on this Nice Buck Shot at 160 yards with one shot!

Friday, August 31, 2007 - Championship Night at MISAn EXCITING CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT AT MIS!
Practice did not go the best, and it left the team scratching their heads on what was up. THANKS to crew member CHAD PEAT, a broken rear hub was discovered, and Zack & Chad made the replacement quickly prior to qualifying. It's doubtful the car would have made one more practice, let alone a race with the cracked rear hub. The team may be young, but they got the job done. Every driver at MIS had their race game on, and Zack's team was one of them. Zack needed to qualify on sticker tires, as he missed the scuff session, thus only one lap, resulting in an 8th quick. Heat race results were good (3rd) and another adjustment was made prior to feature time. Starting 2nd row outside, unfortunately had Zack in the wrong lane, and by lap 4, he was in 11th place. Thru hard driving and good decisions in a HARD RACE, he finished the feature in 4th. Congratulations to Andrew Morrissey for his feature win, and Bobby Wilberg for his 2007 Season Championship. While 4th Place in 2007 MIS Season Points was not what the team was gunning for, it's not too shabby! Zack was the highest placing Chevrolet for the 2007 Season and the ONLY CHEVROLET to win a Feature Race. It was GREAT to see Eric and Fred Akre, friends from National Gold Cup racing here for the final race. Congratulations to the MIS Kids Club winner, who took home the 4Mile 2-Way Cobra WalkieTalkies Zack donated for the final prize of the year. Stay tuned, and the team will have more prizes next year for the youngsters at MIS in the Kids Club!
Don't forget, MIS hosts the 2 day Fall Classic September 21st and 22nd and at this point, Zack will be driving his Madison Late Model Chevy Monte Carlo.
THANK YOU to 2007 Sponsors Homburg Inc., Morgan Shoes, TT Distribution, Wayne Ace Bus Service, Tom & Ginny Weier, JL Richards Meats & Deli, J&J Wild & many others for their help this year!
THANK YOU to the 2007 Crew - Tim Thoma, Brett Gustrowsky, Chad Peat & Wes Arndt for your time and commitment!
Many decisions for the 2008 Season are in the cards on which path to follow, and one of the final deciding factors, will be a 3rd Primary Sponsorship, which the team is actively pursuing. Thank you to the staff at MIS, and the many new friends the team made thru the season. Stay tuned, and when the decision is made, it will be announced. Several end of year races are being looked at, and the team will keep you informed. Thanks AGAIN for an AWESOME Year!

Bobby Wilberg won two track championships in a single season for the second time in three years and Steve Dickson won his first track championship as part of First Supply Season Championship Night at Madison International Speedway. It was a great night for racing at Madison International Speedway as five divisions took to the track including three weekly divisions that would crown champions. Andrew Morrissey won the feature for Broughton won the Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Bobby Selsing Jr. captured the win in the Roto Rooter Bandits, Andy Jirik flew to victory in the USST Super Trucks, and Greg Pruitt wins in the Hobby Stocks.
Morrissey Masters Madison Late Models…Championship Goes to Wilberg
The table was set for a spectacular finish in the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models points race where Bobby Wilberg entered the night with a five point lead over Tom Gille and a twenty-seven point advantage over Andrew Morrissey. After qualifying Wilberg maintained his lead by just a single point over Gille with Morrissey twenty-nine points back. All of the drama was in place for the 50 lap feature. Sixteen cars took the green flag led by the front row of John Wood, back after a two week absence, and Nathan Oppliger. Wood would take the early lead, but the focus was on what was happening behind the leader. Coming into the race Tom Gille knew all he had to do was finish one spot ahead of Bobby Wilberg. By lap 5 Gille was already up to fourth when disaster struck two laps later when he and Jeremy Miller got together earning both drivers a trip to the rear of the field. Despite going to the back, Gille would not give up and would work his way back. On the restart Morrissey would power his way past Wood and quickly build up a sizeable lead over the field. Trying to keep pace with Morrissey were Dan Lensing and Scott Ollerman who were fighting it out for second. The red flag came out on lap 14 when Kevin Knuese, whoearlier in the evening had won his first heat race of the season, made heavy contact with the front stretch wall and slid all the way up to the outside wall in turn one. Knuese would be ok, but his car would be done for the night. On the restart Morrissey would continue his lead until the caution came out one lap later for a spin in turn four. Wasting no time following the restart, Morrissey built a big lead as Lensing and Ollerman battled it out for second. Ollerman would finally get by Lensing on lap 20, but it appeared nobody would have enough to catch Morrissey. However, the big story of the race was back in the pack where Gille had worked his way up to seventh by lap 24. By lap 35 Gille was up to challenge Wilberg for sixth and two laps later made the pass coming out of turn two. On lap 42 a spin on the backstretch involving Scott Ollerman brought out the caution flag and negated Morrissey’s huge lead. After the restart, Wilberg would get by Gille coming out of turn two on lap 43 for fifth place. Meanwhile out front Nathan Haseleu had begun to cut into Morrissey’s lead. But the crowd’s attention remained on the Gille-Wilberg race. On lap 45 Gille was able to pull to the inside of Wilberg on the backstretch and one lap later the two were side by side. Wilberg would be able to hold off Gille, but the caution flag would come out for a spin on lap 47. Wilberg would be able keep Gille at bay not only on this restart, but for two more as well as a series of late race cautions heightened the drama of the point race. Morrissey would be able to hold off Haseleu for the win followed by Lensing, Zack Riddle, and Wilberg. “This car’s been great. I did everything I could do tonight,” said Morrissey from victory lane who was celebrating his fifth feature win of the season. “This was just great racing between Tom and me,” said Wilberg in a post race interview. “It’s great to win the championship. I really have to thank my crew and sponsors for doing everything they do.” Wilberg has now won three straight Madison Late Model championships.
Jeremy Miller set fast time with a lap of 18.152 with Kevin Knuese and Morrissey winning the heat races.
Madison International Speedway is also hosting the MIS Fall Classic on September 21-22 with fourteen divisions in action. On Friday night the Madison Late Models, Area Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, Bandits, INEX Bandoleros, and INEX Legends will all be in action. A crazy and wild “Double O” race is also on the schedule. The Fireworks were AWESOME and so was the racing. Race feature resulted in a 6th place, after MANY adjustments were made. It was GREAT to see the Homburg Family in attendance in the pits to get an upclose view of the racing. Good Luck to Lauren Homburg, as she is moving to attend college in Nashville, TN, and pursue her singing. Mitchel Homburg fits in the car just great, and maybe he can be the next 93 racer! THANK you to all the new folks who stopped down after the race, about 20 in all from the City of Madison Engineering Department, and congratulations to the winner of the Apple IPOD Nano Zack Riddle Racing donated and that was won by Miss Moll, of Stoughton, WI. It was her families first time at the track, and they enjoyed the Fireworks! They hope to make MIS a regular event.
Friday, August 17, 2007 - By Mr. John Wells – MIS Media Jeremy Miller, Bobby Wilberg, and Steve Dickson picked up wins tonight before a large crowd as part of the Boucher Group’s Fireworks Extravaganza at MIS. Derrick Wright of Lake City Church won the Faster Pastor race. Once again Thunder Cat Fireworks thrilled the crowd with an incredible aerial and ground display. “These guys from Thunder Cat are phenomenal. I just can’t believe how they outdo themselves every year. Just when you think you’ve seen it all they come up with something bigger and better,” commented MIS General Manager Dave Grueneberg.
Jeremy Miller won his third feature of the season in the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models by besting a field of fifteen cars in the 50 lap feature. Kevin Knuese and Jason Tyler brought the field to the green flag with Tyler leading the first two circuits before relinquishing the lead to past track champion Scott Ollerman. Ollerman, who was out for the second time this season, looked to have the most speed early on as he quickly built up distance between himself and the field. Point leader Bobby Wilberg was going to have something to say about Ollerman’s lead as he closed the gap and by lap 14 was alongside him for the lead. Ollerman was able to maintain the lead before he drifted up the track slightly on lap 15 and was passed by both Wilberg and Miller. Miller was able to work to the inside of Wilberg and take the lead coming out of turn one. By lap 20 he had built up a six car length advantage over Ollerman and Wilberg. With Miller safely in the lead, Ollerman and Wilberg were battling it out for second. On lap 30 the two got together on the backstretch and both would be sent to the back of the pack. This meant that Nathan Haseleu would move up to second followed by Tyler, Andrew Morrissey, and Tom Gille. By lap 37 Haseleu had closed the gap on the leader and when the caution flag came out for a spin on lap 44 it looked like another classic Madison Late Model finish. But this night belonged to Miller who was able to lead the rest of the way and hold off Haseleu for the win. “I’ve got to credit my crew. We had some trouble with the car and finally figured out what was wrong with it at 1:00 this afternoon. We got here late and missed hot laps. This is great,” said Miller from victory lane. Following Miller and Haseleu at the line were Morrissey, Gille, and Dan Lensing. Haseleu set fast time with a lap of 18.047 with heat wins going to Tyler and Lensing.

Report by Mr. John Wells - MIS Media
It was a hot night of racing on Swiss Colony Night at Madison International Speedway with five divisions in action. When the night came to an end it would be Andrew Morrissey, Chad Stevens, Bobby Selsing Jr., Max McNamara, and Aaron Moyer claiming top honors.
Morrissey Back in Victory Lane
Andrew Morrissey had to like his chances when he found out he was starting on the outside of the first row in the Swiss Colony 50 for the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models. In a nearly caution-free feature, Morrissey led wire to wire to pick up his division leading fourth feature win of the season. With Nathan Oppliger starting alongside Morrissey, the DeForest driver wasted no time in jumping out to the lead and by lap 4 had extended that lead to nearly ten car lengths. By then Jeremey Miller was up to second followed by Dan Lensing, Bobby Wilberg, and Tom Gille. It would be Gille who would make the most progress behind the leader as he passed Wilberg for fourth on lap 8 and ten laps later made it by Lensing for third. By lap 22 he powered by Miller for second. The only problem was Morrissey’s lead had grown and Gille needed a caution flag. In a division that has seen its share of caution flags this year, it appeared that this event could stay green the entire way. However, a spinning car in turn four on lap 40 brought out the first and only caution of the race and gave Gille the opportunity he needed. On the restart Morrissey was able to maintain his lead and was able to hold off Gille for the win. Rounding out the top five were Lensing, Wilberg, and Jason Tyler. “I didn’t qualify well tonight. It worked out with a pretty good starting position,” said Morrissey in a post race interview.
Nathan Haseleu set fast time with a lap of 18.231 with heat race wins going to Morrissey and Wilberg.

WOW!! What a Night!! First Feature Win for 2007 after ALOT of hard work by the Crew to get the car back on track from last week! A tribute to Mr. Bob Schmelzer, a friend to all racers for over 50 years, and a full stands with the Union Workers couldn't have been a better showing! Zack timed in 3rd, 2nd in his heat, and WON the 40 Lap Feature! THANK YOU to the crew, Peat, Brett, Wes, and Tim for ALL your hard work! Following is the write up courtesy of Mr. John Wells, MIS Media.
Riddle Wins a Wild One in Madison Late Models Zack Riddle won his first feature of the 2007 season by topping a field of fifteen Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models.
From the start it appeared that this race belonged to seventeen year old Shane Morrissey. After winning his heat race and starting on the pole, Morrissey wasted no time setting the pace for the 40 lap feature. After battling Nathan Oppliger the first four laps, Morrissey quickly checked away from the field and by lap 16 had built a ten car length lead over Oppliger. Even after the caution flag took away his sizeable lead on lap 21, Morrissey looked great on the restart. However, in racing things can change very quickly...and for Morrissey that's exactly what happened. Coming out of turn four Morrissey got loose and it appeared was going to be able to get the car back under control. Unfortunately that would not be the case as Morrissey slid across the front stretch and made heavy contact with the front stretch wall. Also caught up in the incident was John Wood whose car also suffered major damage. Both Morrissey and Wood would be ok, but their cars would come off the track compliments of Seitz Towing. This marked the second week in a row where the leader of the Madison Late Model feature saw their night end in a crash. Inheriting the lead would be Bobby Wilberg followed by Zack Riddle, Dan Lensing, Andrew Morrissey, and Tom Gille. Wilberg would lead for two circuits following the restart before Riddle was able to get down to the inside coming out of turn two and on lap 28 would become the new leader. Just when it appeared that things were going smoothly for the Madison Late Models and mini-pile up occurred coming out of turn four on lap 34. Nathan Oppliger could not avoid the sideways car of Jeremy Miller and made contact. With the safety crew on hand and both drivers clear of their cars, Oppliger's car suddenly burst into flames...some flames reaching as high as twenty feet. The safety crew was able to extinguish the fire and a long clean up process took place. Once the race went green again it would be all Riddle who easily held off the field enroute to the win. Wilberg would finish second followed by Lensing, Gille, and Andrew Morrissey.
Fast time was set by Gille with a lap of 18.364 with heat races wins going to Shane Morrissey and Jeremy Miller.

After a double racing weekend last week in the Super Late, hopes were high going into tonight's Madison Late Model race at MIS. What appeared to be a great night of racing, took a turn for the worse with three laps to go in the feature. Running in 2nd place entering turn three, Tom Gille and Zack got together, which resulted in Zack's ride slapping the turn three wall HARD. Thankfully the driver is ok, but this will make for lots of repairs to the 93 Chevy Monte Carlo. Stay tuned and the team will keep you informed of the progress. Thank you to all the folks who came down to check on the driver after the races were done.
Two in a Row for Morrissey in Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models (Article Courtesy of Mr. John Wells, MIS Media)
Andrew Morrissey made it two in a row in the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models by winning the 50 lap feature. Eighteen cars started the feature with Shane Morrissey and Jason Tyler bringing the field to the green flag. Tyler would have the early advantage over Morrissey with Scott Ollerman, making his 2007 Madison Late Model debut, quickly up to second followed by Zack Riddle. Tyler continued to lead the way until the first caution of the race came out on lap 11 for a spin. The incident saw Tom Gille, who came into the night second in the points, sent to the back of the field and the car of Jeremy Miller to the pits. Tyler’s lead and his night of racing would end on the restart after he and Ollerman got together with Tyler’s car up into the wall, thus, ending his night prematurely and sending Ollerman to the back of the field. Inheriting the lead would now be Zack Riddle followed by Bobby Wilberg, Andrew Morrissey, Dan Lensing, and Shane Morrissey. A great restart by Riddle allowed him to put some distance between himself and the field before the caution came out on lap 16 for a spin. Once again the restart was favorable for Riddle who continued to have a two car length advantage over his fellow competitors. Back in the pack, Gille was quickly moving up and was back to sixth on lap 21 and closing in on the top five. On lap 23 a major incident occurred on the backstretch out of turn two that involved four cars and brought out the red flag. After the cars of Dann Barber and Brent Brevak got together coming out of turn two, Jaime Dorsey and Zach Reining simply had nowhere to go resulting in a four car pileup. The good news was that all of the drivers involved were okay. The bad news is that heavy damage occurred to the cars of Barber, Dorsey, and Reining with only Brevak able to return. Riddle continued to lead after the race went green again and would continue to do so through two more cautions. On lap 34, Morrissey had closed the gap and began putting pressure on the leader with Gille close behind. Two laps later Morrissey cleared Riddle on the inside to take over the lead.Morrissey wasted no time in quickly building up a six car advantage over Riddle and Gille who were battling it out for second until the two got together on lap 47. The incident sent Riddle into the wall and put an end to his great run. The restart would find Wilberg now up to second followed by Jason Erickson, Dan Lensing, and Shane Morrissey. But despite his best efforts, Wilberg would be unable to get by Andrew Morrissey who took home the checkered flag in a race that took nearly fifty minutes to complete.
John Wood set fast time for the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models with cousins Shane and Andrew Morrissey winning the heat races.

After Friday's race in the super at MIS for the ASA Midwest Tour, the team headed the next morning to Wisconsin Dells Raceway Park, again driving Don Turner's back up car, owned by Mr. Dahlberg. Zack had raced the Dells in 2005 twice, in his ASA crate Car. Timing in 4th quick, and finishing 4th in the fast dash had the team ready to race. On the narrow, fast track, Zack started 5th row outside. Racing for 3rd place, in the inside groove and side by side with Jim Carlson into turn one, the two made contact and both were required to go to the rear. With hard driving, Zack finished 12th. Again, thanks to everyone who made this race possible.

Zack took to the MIS high banks for his first Super Late Model Race in the super late model owned by Mr. Scott Dahlberg, of Burlington, WI. Zack was running the backup car of Don "Thunder" Turner. This was Zack's premier in the ASA Midwest Tour at his home track of MIS. Lots of folks made it down on track for the autograph session. Starting 34th in the feature 100 lapper, proved patience and good driving were the key. Zack and Dick Trickle, raced side by side for many laps, and it reminded alot of people of his Grandpa, Johnny Z racing weekly with Dick. Finishing up his first super late model race in 17th out of a field of 35 was a great accomplishment! It was great to see former MIS racing director Mr. Steve Einhaus, now director of competition for the ASA Midwest Tour, and the team thanks him, and many others who made this possible!
HILL GOES WIRE-TO-WIRE at MIS By: Kevin Ramsell Friday, July 20, 2007 (Oregon, WI) – Brandon Hill had his hands full even before the 100-lap main event as nearly 200 of his fellow employees were on hand to watch him race. He didn’t disappoint his fans along with the large crowd on hand as he went on to collect his first ASA Midwest Tour win. He becomes the eighth different winner in nine events this season. John Wood and Hill led the field of 35 cars to the start of the Echo Chainsaw/Five Car Stock Car Bodies No Bull 100 presented by Briggs and Stratton and Lancaster Toyota. As Tom White waved the green flag, it was Hill jumping to the point. ASA Midwest Tour Touring Star Dave Feiler made his move into fourth on lap 14, as he got past Rich Bickle Jr. on the inside going through turns one and two. Feiler, a three-time track champion at MIS, was looking strong early in the event. Three laps later, Jonathan Eilen moved into the top five as he got past Bickle for the spot. While Feiler continued his march to the front on lap 20, as he got past Dan Lensing for third. Feiler’s momentum towards the front continued as he caught up to Wood and passed him for second on lap 25. Two laps later, Eilen also got passed to take over third. At the 40-lap mark, Hill continued to lead, but there was a great battle brewing for second as Eilen caught up to Feiler. Eilen got on the inside of Feiler going down the backstretch on lap 42, the two raced side-by-side for three laps until Eilen took over the spot and he tried to begin his chase to catch Hill. The caution flew on lap 49 as Don “Thunder” Turner dropped fluid on the front stretch. The leader, Hill, spun but made no contact with the outside wall. Brian Roach was involved and was done for the night. Because Hill’s spin was due to the fluid, ASAMT officials gave him his spot back. It quickly became a three car battle on the re-start between Hill, Eilen and Feiler. At the halfway mark it was Hill in the lead, Eilen second, Feiler third, Nate Haseleu fourth and Steve Carlson in fifth. On lap 56, Feiler looked on the inside of Eilen to re-gain the second spot. While the two battle side-by-side, Haseleu joined the two in the battle. Feiler would get the position at the line, but Eilen stayed on the outside and the two went back and forth on the position. Haseleu fell back and lost the fourth position to Carlson. The second caution flew on lap 60, when John Wood spun in turns one and two. Brian Hoppe, Kyle Calmes and Mark Kraus were also involved. Both Hoppe and Calmes sustained damage. On the re-start, Eilen got into the back of Hill coming out of turn two, Hill was able to hold on and maintain the lead and even begin to pull away from Eilen. The Eilen/Feiler battle for second heated up again on lap 65 as Feiler muscled his way to the inside of Eilen coming out of turn two. The two made contact a couple of times going down the backstretch. Meanwhile, Haseleu worked his way around Carlson to re-take the fourth position on lap 67. Eilen would hold on to the spot, but Feiler would try again on lap 73. As the two battled, Hill would pull out to a half a straightaway lead.Current ASAMT point leader, Donnie Reuvers, was having an impressive run as he was running a solid fifth with 20-laps to go. Kyle Busch was 10 car lengths behind Reuvers in sixth. With 10 laps to go, Hill had a commanding lead as he put the Legendary Dick Trickle a lap down. The third caution flew with seven laps to go as Doug Mahlik spun in turn two. This would set up an interesting battle for the finish as, per ASAMT rules, with less then ten laps to go, all lapped traffic will fall in behind the lead lap cars. There were 16 cars on the lead lap when the caution flew. Hill once again was able to get the jump on Eilen on the re-start and was able to pull away to his first ASA Kwik Trip Midwest Tour presented by Echo Outdoor Power Equipment victory by 0.386 seconds over Eilen. For Hill, it was a party as he celebrated it with his fellow Five Star Stock Car Bodies employees. Hill works in the shipping department for the company located in Twin Lakes, WI. Hill was thankful that the ASAMT officials gave him his spot back from the earlier spin, “I really don’t know what happened, it just lost control before I had a chance to do anything,” Hill stated in victory lane. “I was grateful for Tim and Steve knowing that wasn’t our doing and giving us our spot back.” “I think Feiler and I ran side-by-side for about half the race,” an exhausted but happy Eilen stated after the race. “Brandon’s car was just good and we had nothing for him. We just had nothing for him on the long runs. Feiler thought he might be able to make a late charge but ran into a small problem. “The first corner it really didn’t stick too well, at that point I had to play a little defense,” as Feiler held off Haseleu for third. Haseleu went on to finish fourth with Reuvers coming home fifth. NASCAR Nextel Cup star Kyle Busch was sixth with Bickle right behind him in seventh. Defending MIS track champion, Bobby Wilberg, was eighth. Carlson and Brian Johnson Jr. rounded out the top ten. Other notables finishes included: Johnny Sauter in 12th, Kenny Richards in 22nd, Dick Trickle in 23rd, Travis Sauter in 24th, Dan Fredrickson in 30th, and JR Norris in 34th. A great celebration was held to honor Zack on his High School Graduation from Oregon High School, and a going away for Stevie & Angella, who are on their way to Charlotte, USA. Thanks to the many folks who showed up to celebrate!
Crew members Justin Everson & Wes Arndt and their new ride, that showed up at the party. While the number 8 is ok, a black and green 93 would have been better!

Morrissey and Liddle Top Field of Winners at MIS (By Mr. John Wells, MIS Media)
A picture perfect night for racing greeted fans and drivers at Madison International Speedway on Clear Channel Night with five exciting racing divisions in action. When the checkered flag waved for the final time, five drivers would be going home with feature wins: Andrew Morrissey in the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models, Brady Liddle in the Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Bobby Selsing Jr. in the Roto Rooter Bandits, Blake Brown in the Legends, and Jesse Bernhagen in the Bandoleros. Justin Brown of WJVL radio in Janesville won the celebrity race.
Morrissey Best in Madison Late Models
Andrew Morrissey picked up his second Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Model feature win of the 2007 season by topping a seventeen car field in the 50 lap feature. The field of Madison Late Models was led to the green flag by a pair of second generation drivers, Brent Brevak and Jeremy Lepak. Early on it appeared that Lepak would run away from the field if the race stayed green as he had built an eight car length advantage by lap 4. By lap 10 Zack Riddle had worked his way up to second and was slowly cutting into Lepak’s advantage. On lap 21 the race’s first caution flag came out for a spin and suddenly Lepak’s lead was gone. Following the restart Bobby Wilberg passed Riddle to take over the second position before the caution flag came out for a spin in turn two. This meant that Lepak would now have to hold off the hard-charging Wilberg if he wanted to keep his lead. When the green flag waved Wilberg wasted no time as he went to the inside of Lepak going into turn one and took over the top spot and by lap 26 had built a solid lead over the field. Morrissey, who had worked his way up to fourth was up to second on lap 26 with Jeremy Miller right behind him. Patiently chipping away at Wilberg’s lead, Morrissey had closed the gap by lap 35 and the DeForest, Wisconsin, driver was right on the leader’s tail two laps later. On lap 39 Morrissey saw the door open up and took to the inside of Wilberg coming out of turn two and powered by him for the lead. Despite a series of caution flags late in the race, Morrissey continued to maintain his lead and took home the checkered flag. Following Morrissey at the line were Miller, Wilberg, Riddle, and Jason Tyler. Tom Gille set fast time with a lap of 18.283 (98.452 mph) with heat race victories going to Lepak and Wilberg.

Zack is off this weekend, as MIS hosts the ASA LateModel Challenge series. Hope to see you next Friday for Zack racing at MIS!

What started out as a great looking night took a turn for the worse on lap three of the fifty lap feature. Timing in 2nd quick, and 3rd in his heat, had the team feeling good for feature time. Construction Labor Management was the nights sponsor, and the stands were full. John Wood and Tom Gille came together at the end of the back stretch, and bottlenecked the track. This took out Zack, Nathan Haseleu and Andrew Morrissey for the night. Three of the top five in points now had to watch the race from the fence. On a better note, Stephanie L. was the lucky MIS Kids Club winner of the Portable DVD player Zack Riddle Racing donated. Stay tuned and hope to see you next week at the track!

Jeremy Miller won his second feature of the 2007 while Ryan Goldade, Bobby Selsing Jr., and Aaron Rude won their first-ever features in their respective divisions at MIS on a picture perfect night of racing as part of Construction Labor Management Night at Madison Iternational Speedway. Going into tonight’s race, the Madison Late Model division boasted five different feature winners in five nights. After the checkered flag waved it would be Jeremy Miller of Rockton, Illinois, who would become the first repeat winner in the 2007 season. Twenty-four cars started the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Model feature with Michael Pickens and Nathan Oppliger starting in the front row. Unfortunately Pickens would experience trouble right from the start and be forced to drop out of the race. This moved the inside line up one row meaning John Wood would inherit the pole. Oppliger would jump out to the early lead before the caution flag came out for a spin in turn two. Following the restart Oppliger’s lead would only last one more circuit before Bobby Wilberg powered by him on the backstretch. In racing things can change very quickly and that’s exactly what happened on lap three when a backstretch incident collected the cars of Nathan Haseleu, Andrew Morrissey, John Wood, Tom Gille, Zack Riddle, and others. For Haseleu, Morrissey, and Riddle it meant the end of the night. Gille and Wood would return. Once the race restarted Wilberg continued to hold down the point followed by Jason Tyler, Miller, Oppliger, and Jason Erickson. Two more caution flags would come out on lap 15 and 16 with Wilberg still the leader. On lap 20 Tyler pulled alongside Wilberg for the lead only to see the caution flag come out two laps later for another spin in turn two. Despite being involved in the lap three melee on the backstretch, Gille had worked his way all the way up to fifth and was turning the fastest laps of all. Following the restart Wilberg was able to keep Tyler at bay with Miller able to get by Tyler for second on lap 28 and focus his attention on the defending champion. Two laps later it would be Miller up to challenge Wilberg and making the inside pass coming out of turn four for the lead. Once he cleared Wilberg, Miller had nothing but a clear track in front of him. Wilberg would relinquish the second position to Tyler and was soon passed by Gille. But the man on a mission behind Miller was certainly Gille. On lap 42, the Winnebago, Illinois, driver powered past Tyler for second and was ready to challenge Miller for the lead. Gille would give it everything he had, but he wouldn’t quite have enough as Miller held him off for the victory. “ Tom Gille races hard…I was a little nervous with him behind me,” said Miller in a post race interview. Following Miller and Gille at the stripe were Tyler, Lepak, and Wilberg. Fast time was set by Haseleu with a lap of 18.308. Heat races were won by Nick Beinlich, Wilberg, and Wood.

Sorry, MIS has a RAIN OUT for tonights race!
Don't Forget... MIS Hosts the First Supply All Star Challenge race Tuesday, June 26th featuring Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart. Unfortunately, this year the race is a "Super Late Model Show", not a "Crate Car" race, as it was in 2006, and as such, Zack is without a ride. Check Zack out Friday, June 29, 2007 for racing at MIS.

Hot temperatures and a hotter track were the stage for Friday's racing. Timing in 4th, with a WIN in the heat set the stage for the feature.
A Hot Night of Racing at MIS By Mr. John Wells – MIS Media With temperatures in the mid-80’s and five divisions in action it was truly a hot night of racing at Madison International Speedway. Five drivers would go home with the coveted checkered flag when the night ended including Andrew Morrissey in the Weaver Auto Parts Madison Late Models, Scott Broughton in the Rockweiler Insulation Limited Late Models, Tyler Kelley in the Roto Rooter Bandits, Blake Brown in the Legends, and Jesse Bernhagen in the Bandoleros. Andrew Morrissey of DeForest, Wisconsin, topped a field of nineteen Madison Late Models in winning the 50 lap feature. It was Morrissey’s first feature win at MIS in 2007. In fact, there have been five different feature winners in five events so far this season. Dann Barber and Michael Pickens brought the field to the green flag and unlike last week, the green flag would come out and stay out for awhile. Pickens wasted no time and vaulted to the lead with Morrissey, who started fourth, up to second by the end of the first lap. This week’s start would prove to be much better than last week’s caution-marred race that featured an early race incident on the backstretch that ended the night for several of the drivers. Pickens built a solid lead which by lap 15 was up to four car lengths with Morrissey, Jason Tyler, Nathan Haseleu, and Bobby Wilberg rounding out the top five. The first caution of the event came out on lap 18 for a spin. After the restart, Pickens, who led last week’s feature as well, continued to maintain his lead. By lap 24 the action out front really heated up with four cars jostling for the lead with Morrissey coming out ahead. “I knew I had to get by the 4 car, but it wasn’t going to be easy,” said Morrissey, who eventually cleared Pickens on the front stretch on lap 25. One lap later Haseleu passed Pickens for second and set his sights on Morrissey. Wilberg also joined the chase when he passed Pickens on lap 29 with Tyler up to fourth and Tom Gille to fifth one lap later. Two more cautions would occur on laps 30 and 40 with Morrissey answering the call on each of the restarts and denying Haseleu the chance to win back-to-back features. At the line it would be Morrissey topping Haseleu by 0.480 seconds. Following Morrissey and Haseleu at the stripe were Wilberg, Gille, and Zack Riddle. “It’s great to be back in victory lane,” said Morrissey in a post race interview. Haseleu set fast time with a lap of 18.139 (99.234 mph). Jason Erickson, Riddle, and Morrissey recorded heat wins. Haseleu is the new point leader in the division with a 399-398 advantage over Wilberg. Rounding out the top five in points are Gille, Morrissey, and Riddle.
